USMNT Advances to Semi-Finals on Penalties


The United States men's national team advanced to the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Sunday, defeating Canada in a penalty shootout after the match was tied 2-2 after extra time. You can get CONCACAF Gold Cup 2023 live score on the Sports Tiger app or website.

The USMNT took the lead in the 22nd minute through Brenden Aaronson, but Canada equalized in the 40th minute through Jonathan Osorio. The match remained tied until the end of regulation, and then extra time failed to produce a winner.

In the penalty shootout, the USMNT converted all three of their penalties, while Canada missed two. Matt Turner made two saves in the shootout, helping the USMNT to a 3-2 victory.

The USMNT will face Panama in the semifinals on Wednesday. Panama defeated Costa Rica in the other quarterfinal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Jamaica will face Mexico in the other semifinal. Jamaica defeated El Salvador in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

The Gold Cup final will be played on Sunday, July 16
